Public Order at Capital Hall Was Abused (1st February 2012)
Wednesday, 01 Feb 2012 15:35This morning at 8:30, there was a handful of people protested and sealed off entrance-exit of Phnom Penh Capital Hall, caused traffic congestion and public disorder.
Phnom Penh Capital Hall would like to inform the public that people who resided in Boeung Kak "Lake" area 1:41and already signed in an agreement to accept the relocation policy, keep demanding for extra 20,000 UD Dollars which in this case Phnom Penh Capital Hall has many time informed them that such demand goes beyond what Phnom Penh Capital Hall could offer.
Those people do not obey the contract they have voluntarily accepted the relocation policy from the company, also they incited those who do not have a legal settlement from other areas in order to protest in all forms by closing entrance-exit of Phnom Penh Capital Hall and using violation that injured the police although the authority has tried to explain them to stop such illegal protest.
Phnom Penh Capital Hall has no other choice but to take an appropriate counter measure in order to maintain public security, safety and order for people in Phnom Penh so that laws can be effectively enforced as a principle of the rule of law can be applied.
Phnom Penh Capital Hall strongly hopes and believes that people and civil society will understand the situation.
