Families near Airport Face Eviction (Feature)
More than 133 families living adjacent to Phnom Penh International Airport will have to vacate their homes to make way for an expansion project. Local authorities claim that the settlements were illegal and that they have the right to evict the families. The evictions were announced amidst rumors of an alleged plan to make way for a security road to ensure the safety of US President Barack Obama who is expected to visit the country in November.
Raising Fish in the Rice Fields (Main Story)
For years rice farmers in Cambodia have collected fish and other aquatic fauna from rice fields across the country. However the number of fish stocks has been declining amid high demand for consumption. We take a look at local efforts aimed at replenishing stocks, increase yields and provide an ongoing source of food and income to rice farming communities.

The old Padest stupa in Kampong Chnang province is falling apart. There are concerns that if the authorities, including the Ministry of Tourism, don’t look after it we may lose an important piece of Cambodian history.
