Press Release

Phnom Penh Capital Hall would honorably like to inform the public that previously, there was a handful of people claimed that they lived in Borey Keila and protested in all forms in order that all levels of institutions intervenes to Onsite Development Committee and Panimex Company to construct buildings with more rooms. Those protesters mostly do not have clear residential identities in Borey Keila and are not qualified to receive homes and the state compensation policy as the observation found it lies behind a buy for sale properties and owners do not neither live in the homes, nor have any document and are just renters, while others already received the compensation policy but still join the protests. Although Phnom Penh Capital Hall has assigned officials to explain and conciliate with them, they refused to listen and the peaceful means of solution, and they have continued to anarchically do protest everywhere under some NGOs and political parties incitement to conduct such unlawful actions.

Phnom Penh Capital Hall would like to clarify that the authority has already handed over homes to people who have proper documents, and it remains only 31 police officers families and 6 civilian families who have not yet accepted the homes. For those who are living in Borey Keila with sufficient documents identified by the Committee, please contact with Administration Office at working hours for evaluation purpose in offering homes.
